about
Dylan Hall a.k.a 'mae jahmoose' is the psychedelic, alternative rock project of a lifelong Pennsylvania musician. The name began as a nickname at his first festival—Major Moose—later given an abstract twist: mae (Spanish slang for dude), jah (God) & moose (his K-9 bff & guardian angel). Symbolizing a dude & his dog, with God at the center of it all.
With psych-rock textures, indie-alternative grooves, and raw singer-songwriter storytelling, mae jahmoose creates music to spread light, love & healing—music that inspires, grooves & connects us more deeply to each other & most importantly, to God.
June 21, 2025 birthed his debut album, only trust my dog & God, a collection of songs written between 2020–2024. Sonically painting his journey of life, that led to a radical spiritual encounter on October 9, 2024, when he met Jesus Christ and re-discovered his identity, purpose, and newfound faith in the Son of God. After an unexpected cancer diagnosis in December of 2025, Dylan has been more empowered than ever to fulfill God's calling on his life, which is to leave this world better than he found it while pointing people to Jesus. Using the gift of music and art as his primary weapon of choice to spark impactful world wide and personal reflection, spiritual revolution and repentance. All by the power, grace, love, strength and truth of the King of all kings, the one and only Jesus Christ.
At around 14 years old Dylans fascination with music was cultivated by his older brother, Justin. Only 2 years later the two brothers started their own band (89 Astro Van) leading Dylan further into his passion of song-writing, recording and performing. After countless shows in the Philadelphia/Bucks county area, recording 4 EP's and a full length album, the members of 89 Astro Van eventually went their own ways. Dylan carried on to form numerous bands after this, all of which naturally came to bitter sweet ends as life and responsibilities carried members away. Eventually Dylan landed his way into the short lived role as the bassist for 'The Reality Check Experiment' in 2022. Over the course of the years following the disshemblement of 89 Astro Van, Dylans musical tastes and inspirations would drastically evolve having collected more festival experiences and musical exposure through teaching music lessons. Organically and unintentionally Dylan entered the writing phase that eventually led to his debut album 'only trust my dog & God' under the new name 'mae jahmoose'.
Currently Dylan is building towards his next full length release, while working on singles and EP's between. When he isn't writing and recording, he is touring as the bassist for Noah Richardson, since 2024.
